Emerging from an idea that first sparked at the University of Pennsylvania, Pseudonym Productions was officially founded in 2015 in Orlando, Florida. Across 5 unforgettable immersive experiences, Pseudonym made a name for itself as one of Central Florida’s most unique production companies. Now back in Philadelphia, Pseudonym Productions is currently developing multiple new immersive experiences to debut on an aggressive timeline across multiple cities throughout the coming years.

We are looking for a creative Lighting Designer who can lead the efforts in transforming our sets into spectacularly moody spaces.

Desired past experience includes 3+ years in designing lighting for live productions.

Candidate must possess the following qualities: exceptional, well-rounded creative skills with lighting; excellent oral, written, and graphic communication skills; strong work ethic, positive attitude, and ability to design collaboratively; excitement to work quickly, in many different directions.

Job responsibilities include: Identifying and suggesting lighting needs throughout the winding sets inside a sprawling immersive experience with the goal of achieving certain moods and evoking appropriate emotions with each scene. Getting hands-on with the placement, installation, and programming of lighting, including triggered and interactive moments.

Compensation: This is a paid freelance position. Pay rate will either be hourly or a flat fee per project.

Expected hourly range: $18 – $30 per hour, based on experience level, work history, range of skill set, time required to complete projects, and fit within the company.

Flat fee to be negotiated with freelancer, based on expected time devoted to projects, experience level, and work history.

Time Commitment: Work is scheduled to begin by the end July / early August with a variety of evolving project-specific work during August and September, with all jobs to be complete by the end of September.

Ideal candidate is located in or near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
